The Ibans should get rid of mentality of “kerja offshore badas gik”. In the old days, of course the O&G are high demand due the discovery O&G in Sarawak. Now, it’s a different era. I’d be more happy to see us Iban pursue in other industries, be it lawyer, doctor, IT engineer etc

If you wanna be a chef, go. If you wanna work in Google, go. If you wanna start up a business, go. If you want to be a politician, go. If you wanna work outside of Malaysia, go. But remember, always gives back to the community. Anang bebinking ka pangan diri

The good example can be seen when teacher was a high demand job opportunity in Sarawak. A lot of Ibans in the colonial times pursued to be a teacher, this includes some of the aki & uncles in my longhouse. Why? because they want others to have a good access of better education.
