When I was 13 I read the first 4 Dune books and saw the David Lynch adaptation in theatres and I remember so little. Let’s see what I can recall before I go to bed:

- It’s set on desert planet named Arrakis
- there are giant worms under the sand that you can learn to ride
- everyone wants “spice” which is maybe Arrakis’ chief... export?
- the hero’s name is Paul Muad’Dib
- his last name is the same as a species of kangaroo mouse(?)

- there is some religion or person called “Bene Gesserit”
- Paul M-D is some kind of savior
- people wear special suits to be out in the desert (that recycle their sweat maybe?)
- there’s a family called the Harkonnens
- there is someone named Gurney Halleck

- At some point a poison tooth comes into play
- the spice maybe gets you high?
- oh! The savior is called the Kwizatz Haderack (sp?)

AND THAT’S IT!

- Wait the suits they wear in the desert are called “stilsuits”
- someone has a big facial scar (Gurney Halleck, I think)

- Oh yeah! Paul’s real last name is Atreides(so?) and Muad’Dib is his savior name
- I think his dad was a duke?
