That's because these aren't 'online classes', they are emergency 'make do' classes.

It is so frustrating to see senior people/management regard this as a case of "just record your lecture".
That is an insult to staff and to students, plus shows ignorance of actual teaching practices (no, we don't all do lectures, surprise!)

For those of us who have been doing innovative teaching, who have bothered to take it seriously, read the literature, done the training, it is an absolute hypocritical slap in the face to imply that we can just speak to camera for 50 mins and job done.

(Feeling this v. intensely even on leave as I am acutely aware that my allowance of 55 mins prep for every 1hr of class time means I could not possibly even write and record new lectures within my allocated workload)
