Okay so, my feelings on luke skywalker, a thread.
When I was first introduced to SW, I was a kid, and I remember thinking that the original films had nothing special except for Carrie in them. There was no relatable characters besides Leia, and they didn& #39;t even really give her much time to develop in the first movie.
I remember first watching ANH and absolutely hating Luke with a passion though, i thought he was the blandest character that I had ever watched, and it wasn& #39;t M@rks fault, it was just genuinely not the character for me. So, I didn& #39;t make it all the way through the trilogy.
Now, fast forward to when the TFA& #39;s trailer came out, I was absolutely fascinated by it and watched all of the films over again now that I was older and fell in love with each one of the characters, and I liked Luke but he still kind of fell flat in dimension for me.
I get that he was made to appeal to boys, and made kind of lifeless so that anyone could put themselves in his shoes, but it just wasn& #39;t that great and I found myself loving Han and Leia and Chewie and even Vader, but Palpatine and Luke just fell by the wayside for me.
I even like Anakin and Obi Wan in the prequels more than luke
Anyways, so TFA came out and I came to love Star Wars. One of the things that I loved so much about Rey is that she was nothing like Luke! LMAO I might make a whole different thread on that later.
Fast Forward To the TLJ Trailer, when we would see more of Luke. I remember watching it in my living room for the first time and for the first time ever in my life, I was excited to see Luke Skywalker on screen!!!!
Like, I will not tell you how fucking much I loved this trailer, but when Luke said, "It& #39;s time for the Jedi to end" I fucking lost it. I was so excited, because here we would get to see depth and growth in a character (whilst it is negative growth, we still get to see him
not stagnate like he does in the original films) I genuinely could not wait more for a performance than for that movie, and it was an exciting occasion too. I was so hyped up that I was literally bouncing on the car ride to the movie theatre.
Anyways, In TLJ I absolutely learned to love Luke Skywalker& #39;s character. His arc was complex and there was a lot explore there, and even if he died I knew that he was going to come back in the next movie and I couldn& #39;t wait for that either
Let me tell you something too, just because you love a character doesn& #39;t mean that you agree with everything they do. Because I didn& #39;t agree with anything that Luke did at all in that film, but I understood it and I loved the writing.

I cannot put it into more eloquent wording on how much I hate him.
One of the things that I hate most is pandering, and TRoS, in all of it& #39;s god awful blue-tinted horror, was pandering to the finest degree. I could go on and on about the atrocities committed in that film from KMT& #39;s nonexistent screen time to the butchering of Rey
to the racist undertones in the film, but this thread is about Luke and I am known to go off on a tangent, so I will try my best to just keep it to Luke.
