I keep stumbling across the funniest thing. Markle stans insist William is jealous of Harry’s popularity. I know. Crazy, right? William was the first-born son of fairy-tale couple (what seemed like then) Charles and Diana. A new heir to throne. The world celebrated his birth.

I was 7 when he was born and my g-ma bought ALL of the mags about Diana and the BRF. The world loved watching that golden-haired little guy grow up. At some point, he grew into a hunk and was he EVER popular then.

The crowds when William married Catherine speak for themselves.

When each of his children was born, huge crowds gathered just to see the birth announcement at Buckingham Palace and outside of the Lindo Wing, too. 25,000 tweets per minute flew after the birth of Prince George.

We could judge by the massive crowds the Cambridges draw on their tours and engagements.

Or you could go by opinion polls, which he is always solidly near the top of. Harry used to beat him by a smidge (1-2%), but he has dropped in ranking this year. Or the constant calls for him to be King over Prince Charles (I don’t agree, PC deserves his turn, IMO).

He’s a sought-after patron. Brought on board by the National Emergencies Trust after helping them to raise over 12 million dollars in a matter of weeks, with much of it already going out to people that need it. He’s helped to save hundreds of lives in search and rescue work.

You could look at any of these factors to see that PW is quite safe when it comes to popularity. BUT the BRF is not a popularity contest. It’s not a reality show that allows you to call in to vote for your fav. William’s place was set in stone from birth. He is living up to it.

He has no need to be jealous of Harry, or to copy Harry, or to steal Harry’s ideas, or to leak Harry’s location. He has no need to compete. He is loved and respected. He works hard for his family. He does his job well. He’ll be just fine no matter how many tantrums stans throw.
