Bernie did the same thing in 2016 when he encouraged people to vote for Hillery. Said if u don’t vote for her, if u vote third party, if u don’t vote at all, or if u write his name in you’re giving the republicans your vote.
I agreed with him then and i agree w him now. Third parties never win anything and when they get big enough they get absorbed by either democrats or republicans. Look up the history of the tparty aka the tax party. They’re republicans now.
The tax party is now holding public office ie: senate and congress under the name of, republican. That’s why they’ve gotten crazier and crazier. This is the T-party at work.
History has shown us once before at least that we cannot have a third-party in our political system. Everybody knows that Abe Lincoln was Republican, but did you know that originally he was third-party? His party got so big that it became part of the... republicans.
So if u vote third party during an election it’ll go to the republicans. It’s why Bernie runs as a democrat even though he freely admits he’s third party and why the dnc will never except him as the presidential nominee.
There were tons of registered voters in 2016 who for whatever reason just refuse to vote. Study after study has shown that that was one of the reasons why Democrats lost the election.
I understand that everyone is mad at Bernie and disappointed that he dropped out. Me too! I just don’t know who else you think he would endorse because the two choices are either Donald Trump or Joe Biden. Like there’s no other viable choice. None!
At least he’s getting Joe to absorb some of his plans and policies. It’s a bit too late, but at least he’s trying. Do I think he likes Joe? Maybe. Do I think he thinks Joe is the best candidate? Absolutely not. He’s just working with what he has.
Who he thinks will win. Bernie is a smart guy. I bet he’s thinking that if he gets Joe in office he can enact some of his plans and policies via Joe. Don’t know if that will actually work out for him but… it’s the best shot he has at this point.
Unlike in 2016, I do not feel right voting for Joe. You realized too late that he needed Bernie supporters. Before then he’s disrespected us, and voted against things Bernie supports. I think that’s why everybody feels like Bernie spit in their faces. I know I do.
I don’t really see where Bernie had a choice here. He didn’t have the delegates needed to beat Joe. He wouldn’t have gotten them anyway. And Trump is... Trump.
