i know that the scene right after this is always talked about b/c of waver-losing-his virginity-to-iskandar, but i feel like THIS SCENE isn& #39;t talked about enough. this scene is a great example of waver& #39;s character development, but it also reminds me of the gordian knot.
iskandar cutting the gordian knot is a great example of getting by with the most efficient solution, the embodiment of the phrase, "it doesn& #39;t matter how you do it so long as you get the job done." it seems clear that waver picked up this way of living from iskandar.
as lem2, waver rarely ever solves problems in a flashy way and prefers simple-but-efficient solutions. he shuts down sneaky mages in their secret lairs with electricity bills, saves himself from being burned alive by cutting a lock of his own hair, etc.
it really distinguishes lem2 from his younger self, who hated technology and wanted to solve all of his problems in a flashy and dramatic way. clearly, the change brought waver a lot more success than he would& #39;ve imagined, and it& #39;s all b/c of the way iskandar inspires him.
