Debunking the need to date.

Young people of any generation can be characterized by their need for independence in decision making.
Especially when it comes to choosing who to be with.

It takes two individuals who have flaming passion for one another to have a relationship...

But it takes a community to have a successful marriage. And there in lies the first problem. Many young people believe no one should have a say in who they commit to, ...'my life my choices'. But people see the picture a lot better when they're not in the frame...

This is far from arranged marriage. This is accountability. Knowing that ultimately, the choice is yours but inviting the advice of those who've been there and done that. Pastors, parents, elders,... a community. It requires humility & readiness to hear what you may not like...

Boy prayed about it and his accountability team believes he has what it takes to lead a family. Girl talks to her parents about him or her (pastor, trusted elders) e.t.c... And they believe its him.

This is where they court! Dating was never a phase in the marriage process!

There's so much you never know about a person until marriage. Dating is a phase people are increasingly tired of because of its meaninglessness.

Has it worked for people? Sure! You go through a hundred people & ofcourse you'll find one. Even a dead clock is right twice a day...

But people do not have all that time, energy and emotions to expend anymore. When you meet them, they'll know you're ready & you'll know they're ready.

Dating sometimes is used to try to make something work & fix people who were broken & not the right fit from the onset...

The mature understand that the initial passion is fiery, & passion is great for intimacy but that flaming lust doesn't always last. And It's not what keeps people together.

Its commitment that does. Dedication to Loving who you married. Dating & pursuing who you already have.
