Does anyone know of any studies related to #SARS or #SARSCoV2 #covid19 in relation to #entemology #insects ? #epitwitter #microbiology I know blood doesnt contain enough virus to warrant transmission fears- but do we know If fomite transfer has been studied/possible from insects?
I keep thinking about the early fear from household pets and that missing animal vector- would it be possible for fleas? Or would that require it to be present in blood- or even house flys or cockroaches, or other cohabiting insects with humans? Also keep thinking about..
The early videos of fumigation being done outdoors in Wuhan and Hubei province. We knew it wasnt for mosquitos as seen with other virus due to lack of presence in blood but could it have been for insects of a different type- never seemed appropriate for sanitation and didnt buy..
The popular theory it was all for show. There were some videos that showed a thick opaque smoke- not ozone or the sprays seen in other countries. This was definitely more in line with what I'd associate with pest control which was odd to many of us at the time
From what I can find there doesnt seem to be any known connection to any insect at all. But have there been any studies in any common insects that may be susceptible to other beta coronavirus or in relation to the first SARS at all? Just curious more than anything đŸ€”đŸ§
