fuuuuuuuck. doctor just informed me that a new japanese law requires that i have *proof* of the fact that i’ve had ADHD since i was a child, or they will no longer issue my prescriptions.

because ADHD is seen only as a childhood illness in japan, i’m now being asked to provide (at the very least) primary school report cards, stating that i displayed traits of something i wasn’t diagnosed with until i was an adult

okay, fine, my teachers have been calling me “smart but unruly” since time immemorial, but…uhm…my parents’ house burned down in the california wildfires, and all of my childhood records went with it?

my only potential salvation is that *maybe* she can accept a LETTER FROM MY MOTHER, stating that i was a problematic child, and specifically categorizing the behavioral issues i displayed in early childhood

so, just to be clear, before i can continue receiving my medication, i need to get a note from my mommy #wtf
