One of the unfortunate things existence as a trans woman has taught me is that false rape accusations are actually a serious issue to hated minorities: both legally, and in the more quotidian sense of daily interactions.
Nonsurvivor feminists need to realize that *specifically feminist* rhetoric of sexual violence will be appropriated not only by men but also racists, trans-haters, victim-haters and other bigots to craft oppressive environments for minorities. https://twitter.com/ShieldingC/status/1003003084291887105
Angela Davis recognized this in the early 1980s: "Rape, Racism and the Myth of the Black Rapist."
Lesbians have also recognized lesbophobic feminist narratives, which not only falsely position them as groomers & rapists, but more insidiously erase the existence of SSDV to perfectly conform lesbians to a straight feminist or politically lesbian narrative. (h/t @surfacingwater)
Make no mistake: nonconsensually forcing someone into your rape fantasy *is* sexual objectification. It is *part of* male supremacy, even when it calls itself feminism. Often it happens to those sexually objectified by men, because we are sexually objectified by men.
Over years I have seen cis men pretend to be cis women online in order to accuse trans women of sexual assault and perversion. I cannot "prove" this. Of course I can't. And they do not need to pretend -- their kind of cis woman will do it on their behalf, motivate their violence.
8 months ago I privately spoke with a cis woman who *was* raped by a trans woman. We talked at length about her concerns and some related shared experiences. (Trans people are far and away most likely to experience sexual violence from trans people). She was not transphobic.
Something cishet women need to understand is that when we enter queer space -- this is uncommon space -- stereotypes of abuser and abused fall apart. Queer politics accommodates, plays by ear, speaks in "usually"s. We work toward true accountability. We become victim-based.
