After my story on #RSL 's *own* announcement of the layoffs, furloughs and salary reductions (which many including me knew about for two weeks), DLH reached out to the Trib and said he "had things to say" about our story and, my guess was, his decision.
After agreeing to terms for a phone interview, it was set. I was going to speak with DLH and planned to ask many questions about why he made his decision, why RSL didn't qualify for the CARES program, the timeline of his decision, etc.
But, just a couple hours after this was all set up and agreed to, I was told he was cancelling and I wouldn't get the interview "for the foreseeable future" and that he canceled because he was too busy with meetings for other his other businesses. So that was that.
I tweet this only because I and the Tribune were ready to hear his side about all that's happened with RSL employees and ask the questions we felt needed to be asked. Instead of taking us up on it and letting his view be known publicly, he canceled.
But now, apparently the public's view on what went down is the media's fault. k
