TW some of the tweets in this thread reference sexual assault, abuse, trauma, and sex trafficking

For starters, pornography and erotica and two different (but similar) things. Erotica is any artistic/literary work that can cause sexual arousal/stimulation thru art, film, etc
Pornography is the portrayal of sexual acts for the sole purpose of causing sexual arousal and it can be presented thru magazines, videos, film, video games, and animation
Consuming porn or erotica by yourself or with a partner can be an amazing venture into discovering what turns you on, what doesn't turn you on, and even seeing things you might wanna try (with consent obvi) irl. However, there are dark sides to porn
From revenge porn to underage/teen categories sites such as Pornhub make it easy for people to upload and even profit off of sex trafficking, revenge and rape videos, and child pornography
But while stories and news like this is heartbreaking and can even make some people wanna stop watching porn there's still a way to consume pornography more ethically: by supporting sex workers and content creators!
No matter the kind of media there are real people behind the scenes and supporting consenting adults thru sites like Onlyfans or their own personal pages reduces the likelihood that someone is being harmed in the making of the content
This pretty much sums up current thoughts on pornography so thanks for coming to our ted talk and if you have any questions abt this thread or our campaign DM us 😊
