The whole thing with being skilled vs. talented is dumb to talk about because... tbh it's a mix of every side of this opinionfest. By that I mean, yeah. Some people just have more experience with art but at the same time others also have predispositions like eye for imagining >
3D objects/environments, instinct etc. These things help and certainly there are certain mindsets which allow different people to excell at different kinds of artistic skills. After all, art is not all and the same. Which of course doesn't mean that if you're not feeling like >
you're gifted doesn't mean that you don't have any other artistic predispositions. And also that doesn't mean that a lot of artists get to the point where they currently are thanks to chance and training they were able to receive. It's a mix of so many variables.
For instance I seem to have an eye for lighting, design and people tell me I'm a quick learner but I also think my manual skills are developing really slowly - I have problems with precise movements. Also I'm very afraid of taking risks which translates into making art mistakes >
based on not being able to exaggerate something enough or not putting enough pressure on things. Meanwhile there's people I know who have the opposite problems. They're really quick and have an efficient hand which makes drawing so much easier for them but they've difficulties >
with understanding new concepts and imagining objects in spaces. Every artist is unique in their own way and because one naturally excells at one thing doesn't mean they're better at art than anyone else. They're just better at something art related. It's kind of like comparing >
two different people's math skills. If my friend is better at algebra and I'm better at geometry then I can't really say which of us is better because our affinity to certain math-related subjects depends on how we're coded to identify problems. A lot of people I know prefer to >
see shapes as strings of numbers and words while I interpret symbols and phrases as abstract shapes and colours. It's werid but we're all trained by our brains to deal with different problems in our own way. And I think that's where our predispositions come from.
Correction.

Sorry, my brain is failing. https://twitter.com/MatologMeatball/status/1250240774450618371?s=20

It's also full of logical errors but... please ignore it. It's 4 am and I'm making this thread for myself and my followers more than anyone else. AAAagh.
