keigo was driving back to his apartment, his university had finally let out for spring break. the week before was hell, keigo had spent a lot of late nights studying and couldn't wait to get home and catch up on the hours he had lost.
-
he swung the door open to his apartment,
letting out a sigh of relief. he closed the door behind him, following the sound of small chirps all the way to his room. he raised an arm over his head, stretching it out far with a yawn. "hi babies," he said to the three finches tweeting and hopping around in their cage.
"miss me?" he asked sleepily before walking over to open up their cage. two of them flew out immediately, the third hopped onto his wrist. "daddy's just gonna take a nap, okay?" he said. "don't trash my room," he joked, before dropping face down onto his bed. the small finch on-
his wrist flew up and landed onto keigo's wing. she nestled into his red feathers and just as keigo was about to drift off to sleep-
SLAM!
he shot up as the finches started frantically flying around and back into their cage.
"KEIGOOO!" the familiar voice of his roommate, mirko-
bellowed. he groaned, burying his face back into the pillow. mirko swung his room door wide open, "KEIGO!" she repeated. he lifted his head from the pillow,
"MIRKO!" he replied sarcastically, dropping his face back into the pillow.
"get up!" she walked over to the poor sleep-
deprived boy.
"have mercy on me," he muffled unintelligibly into the pillow.
"dabi's throwing a party!" she proclaimed. keigo sat up, narrowing his eyes at the woman standing in a heroes stance in the middle of his room.
"who?" he replied.
"this emo dude from my film history-
film class," she replied. "his dad's endeavor!" she said.
"the dean?" he asked, raising a brow slightly.
"yeah and his mom's an actress, they're filthy rich!" she exclaimed. now it made sense, why mirko wanted to go so badly, they probably had a huge house. "their house must be-
HUUGEE!” she said, “i bet they have a pool,” she added. “so get up and lets GO!” she said poking his forehead.
“can i nap first?”
“no time!” she proclaimed, “i’m going to get ready and if you aren’t done when i am, i’ll kick you!” she said before hurrying out of the room.
he sighed in defeat, letting his head drop to one side. he looked over his shoulder and out the window behind him, it looked like it was going to rain. he got up and shook his shoulders and wings a bit, trying to loosen up. he closed the door to the finches cage, “wish me luck,”
keigo threw on a plain tee and jeans, with a brown jacket. he grabbed a redbull out of the fridge before following the pumped up mirko to her car. “pool! pool! pool!” she chanted.
“geez, what if there isn’t a pool?” he said amusedly.
“THERE WILL BE! i can feel it in my whiskers,”
“you don’t have-“
“in my metaphorical whiskers!” she proclaimed with a laugh. he shook his head, laughing along.
-
the drive to the party was longer than expected, they were driving through a quiet and obviously rich area. the houses were huge and blocks apart.
“this is ridiculous!” mirko laughed, “it’s so cool here!”
“you’re easily impressed,” keigo teased, taking it all in himself.
“not true!” she said raising a finger.
they eventually found the address plastered on a gate. the gate doors were wide open, a long path led slightly uphill to a large driveway. it was classic, a fountain in the middle of the driveway, keigo felt as though he were in a movie.
“this place is insaaane,” keigo ogled.
“i feel like i’m in a cool movie! like the great gatsby!” she exclaimed. how did she always know what he was thinking.
“wouldn’t that make dabi gatsby?” keigo asked amusedly.
“i wonder who he’s trying to lure in then, huh? who could daisy be?” she joked with a laugh.
mirko parked up, “mirko, bro,” keigo said, “you better not leave me alone, i barely know anyone,” he said as he got out of the car as well.

“don’t sweat it, why would i do that?”

“whaaat, you always do that, idiot,” keigo replied, “you see a cute girl and DISAPPEAR,”

“HA!”
“you better not,” he repeated.

“i won’t!”

“mirko, you better not,”

“i won’t!”

she did.

the party was the most wild one he’s ever been to. he had been to big parties but this was different. people were taking just about everything they could. he saw someone toss oxys in the-
air and the people around him frantically started to grab them as if it was a game. even the dancing was different, people were so high they were dancing as if they could physically feel the music. keigo would’ve been lying if he said he wasn’t amused by it all.
he made his way over to one of the only empty areas in the house. the hallway leading to the bathroom. he leaned onto the wall, taking a sip of his drink. he could see the living room from here, a couch where two people were laying. there was a lady wearing purple and orange-
with almost platinum blonde hair. she was sitting on top of a man with black spiky hair who had his arms folded behind his head. he seemed uninterested, or at least, more interested with the ceiling. she was swaying side to side, back and forth, she was clearly gone.
she stood up, nearly losing her balance. she held a cupped hand over her mouth and motioned as if she were going to vomit, the black haired boy seemed annoyed. she shook her head, yelling something that keigo couldn't hear. he rolled his eyes and she stomped her foot and began-
to argue one-sidedly with him. she then paused holding a hand over her mouth again and sprinting towards the hall where keigo was standing. "oh god," keigo flattened himself against the wall as she ran by. she burst into the bathroom and began to throw up. keigo pushed himself -
off of the wall, taking a step towards the bathroom.

"'scuse me, your giant ass wings are blockin' the hall," a voice behind him called out. the voice sounded how silk feels, soft against your skin but his tone wasn't as sweet. keigo half raised a wing to glance over his-
shoulder. his eyes met the other boy's. the dark haired boy from before, his pupils were blown, irises glowing blue. under different circumstances keigo might've said they were beautiful. he was wobbly himself, not as bad as the blonde, but definetly not sober enough to be of-
help to her. keigo moved his wing out of the way, letting the boy pass.

"you need help?" keigo asked.

"err..." the other boy placed a palm onto the back of his neck. "why?"

why? "just trying to be... nice?"

"oh, ha, what a... good boy," he teased, sizing the blonde boy up.
good boy? was this his drunken way of flirting with him?

the dark haired boy walked into the bathroom, keigo following closely behind. even the bathroom was huge, takami had never been in a bathroom where he could spread his wings. the blonde lady was hunched over the toilet,-
her hair fanned out, covering most of the toilets seat. she perked up at the sound of footsteps. "dabiii," she whined, "don't look at me,"

"what, you want me to close my eyes?" the other boy, apparently named dabi, replied.

"yeah!" she whined, she looked like she would burst-
into tears any second.

"alright, alright," he mumbled, placing his hand over his eyes. keigo furrowed his eyes at the sight. "tweetybird go hold her hair back,"

"tweetyb-" he stopped and let out a laugh, "good one, emoboy" keigo admitted, walking over to the sick girl and
taking her hair into his hands. keigo looked over at the other boy who had his finger parted, peeking through and back at keigo. the winged boy quickly looked away, "so, you're dabi, huh?"

"yeeeep," he said. "king of th-" the girl beneath keigo began to vomit again. the boys-
both winced. "yu, shut up,"

"YOU shut up!" she replied groggily. dabi snickered.

"king of this here castle," dabi repeated, letting his hand fall from his face, his head tilting slightly to the side with a smirk. he made his way over to the tub a few feet from the toilet,-
hopping in. "fuuuck,"

"what?" keigo replied, perking up and looking over at the other. dabi was sprawled out, his head leaning back onto the wall behind him.

"the fuckin' uhh... the shrooms i drank earlier are hitting and i'm stuck babysitting," he said, his voice slightly-
whiny. keigo hesitated before saying,

"i could watch her if you wanna just-"

"i'm gon' sssleep," yu said, backing away from the toilet. keigo let go of her hair as she sunk down onto the floor, closing her eyes.

"well, problem solved,"

"hey, c'mere," dabi said, head tilted-
downwards. his fiery eyes hooded over. it sent shivers down keigo's spine. instead of replying he just got up and walked over.

"what?"

"sit,"

"wha-"

"you ask a lot of questions," he said, "curiosity killed the cat... and..." he paused, furrowing his brows slightly, "i'm-
sure it's lethal to birds too," he teased, a smug grin spread across his face. keigo took a seat on the floor, leaning onto the side of the tub. "your voice... fills the air, it's warm, like... really warm," he said, leaning forward towards the smaller boy.

"huh? oh...?" he-
replied softly. dabi was inches away from his face. his eyes glazed over, lips parted slightly.

"so, speak,"

"what do you want me to say?"

"anything," dabis eyes played over the other boy's face. keigo could feel his face heat up.

"have you ever been told that you're-
insanely seductive,"

"like a siren," so he's aware. "is it working? am i luring you off of your safe ship into dangerous seas?" dabi spoke softly. keigo's entire body seemed to heat up.

"i-"

dabi groaned, leaning back. "did the room just flip upside down?"

"what, no,"

"ah,"
they sat in silence for a long while, for all keigo knew, dabi might've forgotten he was even there. "am i embarassing myself?" dabi spoke up without removing his eyes from the ceiling. he sunk deeper into the tub, chin to chest, closing his eyes.

"not yet," keigo teased, "but-
the nights still young-" he joked, looking over at the boy who was laid uncomfortably in the tub. "dabi?" he reached in, shaking the boys forearm. dabi placed a hand over keigos. his eyes flickered open for a moment.

"hm?"

"why don't you go find somewhere more comfortable to-
lay down," he suggested, "this /is/ your house, isn't it?"

"yeeeaaah, once m'body stops vibrating..."

this man is zoinked. keigo smiled fondly at the dark haired boy. he looked down at their overlapping hands, dabi's hand was mostly covered in what looked like a burn scar.
it was rough against his own skin. "let me know when you're ready..."

"ready for what?"

keigo let out a laugh before standing up, "just c'mon," he said, bending over and taking the boy by his hand. he helped him up. "stay here for a second," he said before going to get-
mirko. she was busy making out with a girl who's hair was made of flames but they eventually both agreed to watch over yu while he helped dabi.

"where's your room?" he asked dabi. the boy simply pointed upward. keigo held dabi's hand, leading him through the crowd and towards-
the stairs. they made their way up the large case of stairs and into a hall filled with doors.

"which ones your room?" keigo asked. dabi sleepily walked forward, hand still clutching the blondes. he led him to the third door and swung it open revealing a couple half naked-
on the floor.

"DON'T YOU KNOW HOW TO FUCKING KNOCK?!" the spiky haired blonde laying on the floor barked.

"huh... this is my room," dabi replied, eyes half lidded.

"oh god, sorry!" the redhead on top replied, frantically grabbing his shirt.

"whatever..." dabi said, closing-
the door. "freshmen," he huffed.

"you're just going to let them-"

"i'm a generous person," dabi joked, "besides..." he paused, spaced out.

"besides?"

"besides, i know of a better spot we can chill," he said, he hadn't let keigo's hand go since he grabbed it and wasn't about-
to let go now. he led them out of the house and to the backyard, which surprisingly, didn't have a pool and was nearly empty. dabi dropped down onto the grass, laying flat and looking up at the sky. keigo joined him, lying on his stomach, wings resting against his back.
"you know my friend swore you'd have a huge pool," keigo said in an attempt to start a conversation.

"nahh, half of my families quirks are fire based, not huge fans of swimming," he said.

"you've got a fire based quirk?"

dabi held up his hands towards the sky, both his palms-
lit up in a blue blaze. keigo's wings flinched instinctively. dabi put out the flames. "i won't burn you accidentally or something, if you're worried about that,"

"i'm not," he replied quickly. "my wings just burn easily, sorry,"

"it's cool,"

the silence returned.
soon it began to drizzle. keigo, who was resting on his folded arms in front of him, popped up, reaching his wing out to cover dabi. "it's starting to rain,"

"so?"

"didn't you just say you fire types don't like water,"

"i'm not like my family," he said dully. he reached a-
hand out, pushing keigo's wing aside, letting it rain on him. the drops of water sizzled as they met his skin. it made keigos mind wander to the thought of how warm dabi must be. he couldn't help but stare at the darker haired boy in awe, he'd never met someone quite like him.
luckily, it was a humid and light rain which never got any heavier. they had been laying there for hours, occasionally exchanging fond words, or personal stories. each exchange just made keigo fall deeper down the rabbit hole. his chest grew tighter each time the other boy-
would open his mouth. keigo had his head rested on his own folded arms, watching dabis relaxed face.

"i can feel you staring at me, you know,"

"good,"

"what're you thinking about?"

"...how you might not find me as interesting once you're sober," takami admitted hesitantly.
"hm..."

"how badly i want to kiss you," keigo mused timidly. he wasn't one to feel intimidated but how could he not be? dabi was silent. the rain grew lighter, then stopped, leaving behind a dew on the grass and a mist which rose from the soil.

"i sobered up over an hour ago,"
dabi finally opened up his eyes, looking over at the other boy. "and i still find you to be one of the most interesting people i've ever met," he said. keigo propped himself up, leaning over slightly so that he was hovering over dabi. "actually, you're even more beautiful now-
that the rooms stopped spinning," he raised a hand to cup the blonde boy's face.

"so, kiss me," he breathed. dabi sat halfway up, propped onto his elbow. their lips a mere inch apart. rain droplets falling from the tips of his hair onto keigo's face. dabi smirked slightly,-
leaning in to close the space between them, he pressed his lips against keigo's. keigo felt that same sensation from before, his entire body heated up as their lips moved in sync. dabi bit the other boys bottom lip teasingly before pulling back.

"i never got your name," dabi-
said.

"keigo takami," he replied before crashing his lips back onto dabis. dabi kissed him back, placing a hand on the base of keigo's neck. he squeezed gently. keigo placed a hand over dabi's, squeezing dabi's hand harder as if to encourage him. dabi pulled back once again.
a smirk playing over his face,

"i think i'm going to like you keigo takami,"
