Okay okay, I know this is pretty terrible defense from Trae Young but look at Bam, man. The use of the screen, the crossover and the pull up? Sheesh.
Collects the rebound and fills the lane perfectly for the perfect lob to Jimmy. Not only that, but he completely dusts Clint Capela, one of the fastest bigs in the league.
As he gets older and matures we'll see more of these plays from him. When he realizes traditional centers simply cannot stay in front of him.
Here he is abusing his speed again.
.... and again. The footwork here is beautiful.
Great defense by Bamba but this is why I think Bam is special. The face up triple threat, the footwork and balance to keep his pivot, and then just rises above 7'1 Mo Bamba.
His IQ is through the roof on the defensive side of the ball. Look at him just read these entry passes beautifully, pick them off, and beat the defenders on the fast break.
Like this play; Look at him force the weaker Jaren Jackson Jr. all the way to the three point line before even intercepting the lob pass and outrunning JA MORANT on the fast break.
And I didn't even mention his passing.

These passes are. not. easy. to make.
Are you kidding me with these passes?
Like, his timing and precision on these lobs is ridiculous.
He's just so quick. His craftiness on ball, his foot speed, his footwork, and his strength making him the perfect mismatch against bigs like Vucevic or Fernando. Who just don't have the lateral quickness to hang.
Bam finishes this. Lol.
Still not convinced? Okay here's a compilation of Bam blowing past defenders off the triple threat 🤤
Ah yes, and to top all of this off, he's nearly perfected the 8-12 foot short jumper. On the season he shoots 37% and all jumpshots. Far, far from perfect, but just enough to keep defenses honest.
Lastly, the stats love Bam. He ranks:

18th in Reb%
18th in OWS
6th in DWS
9th in WS
11th in BPM
12th in VORP
