Today I went to @HomeDepot store #4123 to pickup an order that I had placed online the other week. The pickup process was smooth, but it was the most stressed I've felt in a few weeks. Hardly anyone shopping was wearing a mask or gloves, and only saw one, ONE, employee wearing
a mask and gloves. There were signs everywhere about social distancing, but the employees were not respectful of those. One of them walked particularly close to me, and I gestured obnoxiously as if to say "what the fuck, respect my space", but I doubt she cared.
I saw parents with young teens shopping as if nothing was wrong, despite there being taped off areas at checkout guiding people to be mindful of standing 6' apart, and tape on the floor marking where people should stand. I felt like I was taking crazy pills.
I was wearing a mask & gloves, but I don't think that people understand that wearing a mask doesn't protect me, IT PROTECTS THEM. Also, if you don't "believe in" the risk of catching or passing along coronavirus, at least be respectful of those
who very obviously take this seriously. If you continue to act as if none of this is happening, or that "it's not that bad", we will *never* get back to normal. You are not special, you are not above catching a virus or passing it to someone who could die from it.
Fucking get over yourself and take this shit seriously. I really thought that it would be worth saving the $40 shipping fee by picking it up at the store - never again. #iprotectyouyouprotectme #MaskUpPA #SocialDistancing #homedepot #coronavirus #COVID19 #homedepot
