THREAD ALERT

I've watched every @TheMasters you can watch. I'm no @bamabearcat but I know a few @TheMasters "Fun Facts" that would make @the_fried_egg blush. One mystery remains....Who is this man?
NOBODY has dominated ANGC like this man, yet nobody I know knows who he is.
(2 of...?)
He first came to my attention in the'90 event. I don't know if it's the golden mane, the proud posture or the "Sunday Red" that would be a harbinger of things to come, but this man commands your attention.
At cursory glance, I thought, "oh that's Bill Walton." but it is not Bill Walton. Here he is in '91, again on #10.
(Is he posing?)

Imagine the suspense in '92 when the cameras got to #10 and the "Golden Patron" was nowhere to be found. I was legit concerned. But no need: we found him on #15. Again, in Sunday red. Who's winning? The Golden Patron is winning.

He tried to hide in '92, but we found him on 15. He tried to hide AGAIN in '93 by going off brand and sported a festive black print in lieu of the Sunday Red.
Nice try, Goldy.
(His bud in pink shirt w/ sunglasses is like the John Oates of ANGC.)
Back to the lab in '94. Our mystery man returns to #10. Thank God, he's back in Sunday Red by a stylish v-neck sweater vest w/ white slacks/shirt/shoes.
Do you know how good looking and confidient you have to be to wear white shirt/shoes/slacks? Extremely.
Harvey Penick's passing in '95 touched many who love golf and may have inspired Ben Crenshaw to the winner's circle. But just look at the passion and emotion in The Golden Patron's eyes in '95. As if he is staring down the ghost of Penick himself. #GameFace.
Guess who had a front row seat to Greg Norman's implosion in '96? Damn straight. The Golden Patron.

WHO KNOWS THIS MAN. SPEAK UP.
What are the odds that The Golden Patron missed the 1997 @TheMasters?
Of course he was there. And the class act that he is, he let Tiger wear the Sunday Red while he wore....wait for it...a Koos sweater...You may know it as a Bill Cosby sweater.
WHAT A LEGEND.
(haven't seen John Oates in a few years, have we?)
He's never going to top the '97 sweater or Tiger's win. But that's not gonna keep him from showing up every April.
In '98 we see our man back on #10. He's slowed down the urban fashion attack and he's back in red with pleats that could cut rope.
Admittedly, I was really excited to see what he would wear in 1999 given the Y2K end times mindset. Would he go big? Maybe a purple tribute to Prince? Nope. He went stock.

Could he do it? Can he go the full decade?
END:
This man went to every single @TheMasters from '90-'00 (yes, there are more) and he did so with a style and panache that knows no equal.

2001.... (because I know all of you want more.)
2002....What a beast.
Was 2003 the worst Masters ever? Because I can't find our man...

BUT....
Maybe the best of them all....

2004 Masters. Els is done if Mickelson makes par on 18 they go to playoff. Els decides he'll hit the putting green. Guess who waits for him there?
