the love yourself era also was risky asf. i said this before n I’ll say it again but bts choosing to start the love yourself era right after they thought they peaked was a bold ass choice and a commitment to who they are as artists.
they went with even more storytelling, straying even further from the industry and it was a TRILOGY? in an era where people barely listen to albums at all, let alone TRILOGIES.
and while a lot of artists have messages of self love, bts haven’t just kept it to “you should love yourself” they truly went into the subject and tackled every aspect of it + put their own selves out there like... bts’s love yourself was a movement, not a concept.
so to see antis (even some “armys”) act like LY was a shallow boring era or a safe bet or that it was less socially aware is so funny to me bc it was not just a risk but extremely bts in its essence. bts lead by example n by giving us tools to change things by ourselves. đŸ€·đŸżâ€â™€ïž
