y'all, my mom is the goat. so she works in a nursing home with mostly other immigrants and she asks her boss for hazard pay considering they feed, bathe, and care for elderly & immunocompromised residents.her boss (karen) laughed at her and said they could have free lunch one day

instead so my mom and her coworkers were so fed up because they get paid next to nothing for taking care of all these people plus with COVID-19, they are literally risking their lives everyday. so she decides to call off "sick" one day...and the REST of her team follows suit

her boss, Karen, is freaking out and calling her desperately asking for people to cover these shifts so my african mother (petty asf) literally tells her to "have fun doing the dirty work". Three days later, Karen is calling the REGIONAL director and he calls my mom BEGGING for

them to come back to work and conceded to giving additional hazard pay on top of their hourly wage...this is the PERFECT time to join local organizing efforts. the electoral system may have failed you but your community won't if we come together.

all this to say....join the organizing efforts of @corona_strike, @CooperationJXN, and @BlackSocialists calling for a national strike. imagine if we all stepped up and reminded these companies that they are nothing without their workers
