my generation got disillusioned from the war in iraq, obama's centrism, the gig economy, police brutality, etc.
we got excited for the first time in our lives for a candidate we were shamed to like. now we're not excited for the centrist nominee and we're shamed for that too

many of us, in our 30s and up, are literally referred to as children, bote, privileged because we want a better world
we remember when both parties were excited for the latino vote
then trump happened to the right. and latinos supporting bernie happened to centrists

we built diversity initiatives and then watched them be co-opted so no power is disrupted
we watched feminism get co-opted to protect candidates and the privileged from being held accountable
we learned electoral politics is not the end. then we get blamed for trump

we learned electoral politics is not the end. then we get blamed for trump
we will once again be called children while being badgered to vote against our beliefs
is this what happened to previous generations? did the one before them bend them into submission? bully them to "get real?" refuse to budge? to believe that the only change is incremental?

i don't have a mission statement to this. just frustrated like many of you. disillusioned by the process but not buythe spirit of people and what we will do for each other despite the many who give up and give in
