Online school has kicked off and seems to be going well so far - EMs first class is PE so if I hear any jumping I’ll know why.

(Actually mostly his teacher is talking about health - my impression is the kids are paying more attention than normal)
They had 10 minutes in Home Room chat first catching up.

School has been communicating very well, instructions are clear.

Compass however still a totally crap interface & the designers should be hung & quartered.
Turns out his PE teacher has a North American accent.

This might be a good way for parents to find out who each teacher is.
No one in his class is wearing a uniform - most are wearing hoodies and trackies.

Just like their parents working from home!

Standard pandemic fashion.
They are using Google Classroom for lessons and have some extra assignments and quizzes.

Still lots of interaction. Running smoothly.
I think some teachers will be amazed by how much attention some of their students are capable of when not distracted by classmates.
They are doing a quiz now about food nutrition and they are not allowed to Google for answers.

Bet an entire classroom just went and asked their parents if rice has
A) calcium
B) vitamin C
C) vitamin D
And most parents probably have the same answer I did...

“OMG I have already survived high school I’m not doing it again, just put anything I have to finish this - insert name of task -“

(And then secretly googled to find the answer)
Now I’m thinking I should make him o-bento to deliver to his desk.

*prepares shopping list*
Ooooo Japanese class is next - I wonder if I’ll get to finally see this infamous beret the teacher wears.
Also there’s school Japanese class and then there is Mums Japanese class later on will be interesting to compare.
Waiting for class to start.

All the kids are showing each other their pets. It’s really cute.
First mix up - teacher said the video classroom is just for asking questions, but all the kids were in there waiting for instructions.

I think the crankiness was unwarranted - the instructions weren’t clear.
It’s wrong to throw spit balls at your own kid right? Even if they are playing terrible anime music?
Oh thanks to @Fender we don’t have to skip guitar lessons!
Oh the English teachers have joined forces to do online plans and videos. Seem to be well organised.
