I do appreciate the talk of revolution amongst the white, college-educated millennials, but my parents were well-educated, devoutly Catholic college kids that participated in sit-ins, protested the treatment of cafeteria workers at Duke, etc. & then they got married, had kids,
jobs, busy, etc., had responsibilities & had no time/energy for political action, settled into middle class life as a war-hating moderate R voter & a socially left, but neoliberal moderate D voter. They're retired now w/ 6 kids, 6 grandkids & regret the world they've left for us.
We GenXers are a sandwich generation. Both the Boomers and Millennials outnumbers our voting powers by millions. Also, millions of my age cohort have felony drug convictions due to the War on Drugs (which I know the Millennials know was terrible) or PTSD from the War on Terror.
Them shaming black socialists who know that the Civil Rights movement did not fix shit for most black Americans and even caused a bunch of racist backlash not seen since Reconstruction is too much for me & I want them to learn from history & realize Biden isn't going to fix shit.
