God is love. God is glory. God’s glory is God’s love.

God saves a people to himself for his own glory because he loves them. In the same act he saves a people to himself because he loves them for his own glory.
In my mind there is no reason to oppose these things because God’s purposes have no accidents. It is not accidental that God loves us, for God is love and from his entire being flows love for his creature and love for his glory.
It may be true that in contemporary American religion Love as an attribute of God is hoisted so high above all others as to neglect God’s holiness, justice, glory, blessedness, wrath etc.

All of which is not a lawful reason to err in a different direction.
The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. We were created for his glory. We were created for our enjoyment of him and therefore his love. This is a singular yet twofold end. Ain’t no reason to put one above the other.
