not to start a whole thread about korra but she really changed the game for wlw like.. she’s unapologetically herself since the very first episode and she’s so tenacious and reckless and impulsive - the complete opposite of what you would expect from the avatar, especially +

+ considering that the avatar before her was aang, the definition of peacefulness and patience. she has always been so sure of herself (even arrogant, some would say), which led her to believe she could take on the world all by herself. she was imprudent and self-centered at +

+ times, but she has always had a heart of gold. she grew into a woman, who, despite her pain and trauma, was able to bring hope to a (literal) new world. yes, she made mistakes, but she acknowledged every single one of them and became a better person because of them.
