while we're all talking about oscar isaac i would like to pitch you my absolute dream project: a 5-episode miniseries of HOUSE OF LEAVES written/directed by alex garland starring oscar isaac as will navidson and melanie laurent as his wife karen.

danielewski would obviously be a consultant (or even co-writer – his scripts for a proposed HOUSE OF LEAVES series are rad). i also think you could use the johnny truant storyline as a framing device. i'd love to see a smart guy like garland weave in annotations as a film device.

make THE NAVIDSON RECORD the main gist of the series. can you even imagine the sense of nightmare logic garland utilized in ANNIHILATION applied to HOUSE OF LEAVES? the labyrinth of the house + minotaur would be gorgeous and grotesque in his hands.

for whatever reason i'm picturing colin farrell as truant but it could obviously be almost anyone. although i think giving him some age correlation to will navidson would be smart.
