A thread for carers. As a disabled woman in my 50's, I was allowed to apply for a bungalow, fully disabled adapted, bloody wonderful and I love it. I didn't reckon on my nasty old lady neighbour. I was warned by almost everyone in the street "a nasty piece of work is that one"

I cared for my grandmother in my youth. "I'll be fine". So this lady has carers 4x daily and they all come out looking haggard. From day 1 she's been horrible. "You're not allowed to hang washing out because I don't like it" a communal garden to the rear. " You're not allowed to

have ferrets, pets aren't allowed" liar, my first question on viewing was, can I have pets... The final clincher as to my decision that she's nasty was when an old uni pal came to visit me "who said you're allowed to have a w#g in your house you dirty bitch?".
That was the last

straw. I said nothing, I ignore the nasty, bigot and always will.
While letting the Ferrets play out in the garden on their leads for the first time since lockdown, I was waiting for more of her abuse. Thankfully it didn't happen, but carer no3 arrived, looking very sad.

Me, hello I hope you're keeping well, thank you for your work. She looked as if I had shot her! I said, oh, sorry you've got your job cut out with that one, glancing over my shoulder to the nasty house.
You're a hun, she's a one isn't she.
Carer being totally professional,

Well it's not the easiest of jobs, and shrugged.

Carer, head hung low, thank you.
She then stood upright, shook herself down and knocked, knowing that what she would get when the door opened might not be nice. It wasn't.
So to all of those

Amazing, incredible, women who are turning up for every shift, being subjected to horrible, disgusting abuse from those they are caring for, please, believe me, you are not forgotten, the daily abuse you are subject to from those you support and care for is not acceptable and

please, above all else, know that there's people out there who support you and wish we could help. Carers, you're fecking awesome, we thank and bless you. Please look after yourselves

For reference nasty old lady and her equally nasty daughter have also told me from day1 that my ferrets aren't allowed to play in the front garden because "the horrible snotty children will want to play with them and they'll make noise", she almost deaf ffs, just hates bairns
