The #Covid-19 pandemic has laid bare the close relationship between our access to affordable care and financial security. It's why @USofCare and its partners developed a second policy agenda for Congress to help Americans sail all phases of the storm https://bit.ly/3barxZ4
Priority area #1: Provide the accurate information that people need to be safe from the virus: Dedicate $3.6 billion to fund case ID/contact tracing and require public data reporting of infection cases, treatment success, as well a public dashboard of therapies in development
Priority area #2: Build a reliable health care system to support front line workers: Provide $5,000 bonus for all front line medical workers, ensure the childcare they need, guarantee that they have the #PPE they need, and grant $38.5 billion towards their mental health needs
Priority area #3: Provide people with the financial security they need to weather #COVID-19: Increase social security/SSI to those w/ disabilities, remove monetary barriers to seeking care, and appropriate $500 billion to ensure states can provide critical services
Priority area #4: Build a #COVID-19 response system for the most vulnerable: Establish authority/funding to help
states shelter homeless, fund #PPE so people can visit their loved ones, and make sure states have the resources to accommodate voting in a time of social distancing
These key policy points reflect our commitment to solidarity with everyone fighting the pandemic, and our response work is made possible from the support of our donor partners. To donate to @USofCare, visit https://bit.ly/3a8f4Un . Thank you!
