If any of you young gays are looking for a show to binge, may I humbly suggest Absolutely Fabulous?

Fair warning to Americans: be prepared to have no idea why about 1/3 of the jokes are funny because they’re about people you’ve never heard of, and it is VERY 90s, so the passage of time will probably increase that ratio. Nonetheless, still very strongly endorse.

Literally the only nice thing I can say about the first guy I ever considered my boyfriend (a thoroughly ludicrous relationship, for the record) is that he introduced me to both AbFab and Pet Shop Boys.

There is a PSB song about AbFab (nothing but Neil Tennant singing “absolutely fabulous” over and over interspersed with audio clips from the show) which it should shock none of you to learn I can lip sync perfectly to this day, right down to “let’s finish off the beluga.”

True fact: it was because of this show that, on a trip to London around when I was watching, I bought a form-fitting, striped, boat neck Vivienne Westwood shirt at Harrods (my splurge of the trip), easily the gayest garment I have ever owned in my life.

(I’m having one of those moments when my superego is screaming “Daniel, respectable medical professionals follow you so REEL IT IN!!” and yet here we are with this nonsense anyway)
