I keep hearing that we should open the economy and just keep all the high risk people at home. It has had me thinking about what we consider high risk.
With #COVID19 it’s not “sick” individuals who are the only ones at high risk. It’s people that have underlying health conditions but are otherwise healthy, productive members of society
The diet-controlled diabetic. The asthmatic, who uses a rescue inhaler a couple times a year. The person with coronary artery disease who had a stent put in a couple years ago, but hasn’t had problems since then.
The person with moderate obesity, but no other health problems. The breast cancer survivor who just hit her 5 year survival mark.
Smokers and vapers.
Everyone over the age ?60 ?50.
African-Americans
These are all people who are high risk for death from #COVID19
And so many other people that die for reasons unknown.
