I've been a member of liberal Episcopal churches (as a kid) and conservative Presbyterian churches, and a few in between. Not once can I remember a pastor telling us who he was going to vote for. Often you can guess, but that's not the same thing and the distinction is important.
I think better to have trained public policy lay individuals within your church speak to specific issues - that ordination plays a roll here and that ministers need to represent the two-kingdom view particularly. We need to be able to credibly peach repentance & grace to all.
