does your salah feel incomplete? did you forget a rakah again? or was it a tashahud you skipped? does your mind wander off elsewhere? here's how to improve that - THREAD 🌹
khushu refers to the humility, presence and yearning of the heart during salah. It starts in your heart and translates into your limbs. humility of the heart greatly depends on what we occupy ourselves with outside of salah.
“Of surety there is a morsel of flesh in the body, if it is sound, the whole body will be sound, but if it is corrupt, the whole body will be corrupt. It is the heart.” [Muslim].
1. increase your taqwa, consciousness of Allah and remind yourself that He watches all that you do. if you focus on Allah outside your salah, you will focus on him during your salah
2. quieten your mind before salah. disengage from activities that may play on your mind during salah like watching netflix. deal with anything that may distract you e.g. eat before its time for salah rather than feeling hungry during
3. use salah as a time to make dua and have a conversation with Allah. salah is not a chore. treat each like it's your last! inspire yourself to look forward to these conversations with Allah
4. try learn the translation of everything you say during salah and renew your faith by often saying the shahada
5. slow down your salah!!!!!!!!!
Abu Qutaadah said “The Prophet SAW said: 'The worst type of thief is the one who steals from
his prayer.' He said, 'O Messenger of Allah, how can a person steal from his prayer?' He said, 'By not doing rukoo and sujood properly.'"
[Ahmad and al-Haakim,
1/229; Saheeh al-Jaami', 997]
the Prophet SAW said," the one who does not do rukoo properly, and pecks (like a bird) in sujood, is like a starving man who eats only one or two dates; it does not do him any good at all.” [al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer, 4/115]
6. remember death in your prayer.

the Prophet SAW said:
“Remember death in your prayer, for the man who remembers death during his prayer is bound to pray properly, and pray the prayer of a man who does not think that he will pray any other prayer.”
[al-Silsilat al-Sahihah by al-Albaani, 1421]
7. remove distractions from around you. "Aa'ishah had a decorated, colourful curtain which she used to cover the side of her house. The Prophet SAW said to her," Take it away from me, because its decorations keep distracting me when I pray.” [al-Bukhari, Fath al-Baari, 10/391]
'It is the believers who are successful: those who are humble in their prayer”

Surat Al Mu'minoon : 1-2
