I realized really none of you know just how *ah* my high school was so here& #39;s a thread by me and @emmmmmaa____ giving you a mere taste of what it was like
To ease you in, dress code. No t-shirts. No shirts with words or pictures on them (logos must be smaller than a quarter). The only print allowed was school shirts. Shirts must have sleeves. No bra strap showing, but you had to wear a bra. No "soft part" of your chest showing. 1/?
Men had to wear collared shirts tucked in. Women had to wear skirts/dresses until 7th or 8th grade (it was k-12), and even then we could only wear dress pants or jeans. No blue jeans. And no jeans with patterns or multiple colors (can& #39;t attract too much attention to our butts)
No piercings except one in ears, only for women. No tattoos, and they didn& #39;t like you writing on your hand bc that resembled tattoos. Natural hair. Natural make-up. Probably lots more I& #39;m forgetting. Basically, you were business casual every day of your childhood.
The dress code was centered around making sure girls weren& #39;t "too distracting" to the boys. The boys had two rules: collared shirt and hair shorter than ear length. The girls had the rest. A teacher would stand at the stairs in the morning and check girls& #39; outfits on their way in
