. @LouisianaGov says our analysis shows that only 21 of the 129 deaths announced today were from the past 24 hours.

72 of the 129 occurred in the last three days.

That said, we know we will continue to get lagged death reports.

. @LouisianaGov beating a familiar drumbeat about the Stay at Home order. More people need to comply.

We ARE seeing positive signs — lower hospitalizations and numbers of people on ventilators in Louisiana.

All of these gains can easily be lost if people ignore the order.

Today Louisiana reported 10,000+ new tests, which is the largest jump in testing the state has reported. Louisiana has tested more people per capita than any other state right now.

$3.7 billion has been approved for more than 17,000 Louisiana businesses so far under the Paycheck Protection Program, @LouisianaGov says.

If we stop doing those things too soon, we know there will be a spike in #COVID19 cases, @LouisianaGov says, pointing to the mitigation measures and the Stay at Hone order.

The decisions we make today about #COVID19 are either going to have a positive impact on our state or a negative one. And we don’t know for another 7 or 10 days what that impact is, @LouisianaGov said.

. @LouisianaGov says an announcement on if Louisiana’s Stay at Home order will be extended will be made several days in advance of the current April 30 expiration.

The decision on if it will be extended will be based on the #COVID19 case count, the trajectory and health data.
