From airing the first interracial kiss to tackling other taboo issues like homosexuality, HIV, incest &drug addiction #Isidingo wasn& #39;t just daily on screen melodrama but a reflection of society &the things more importantly the things society would not confront.
In fact if there was ever anything "negative" about it; was that at times it was too real. Perhaps maybe that& #39;s why it got glossed up in later years and moved away from being a show about a small mine community trying to survive everyday life. #Isidingo
And whilst I personally feel it lost part of its edginess when it chose to in the late 2000s and 2010s the show& #39;s linchpin was always its acting. I dare anyone to tell me a show that has the alumni of talent #Isidingo had (and the incredible stories the brought to life)
So with @SABC3 currently airing reruns I hope there& #39;ll one day be a way to have the entire series on-demand so that future generations can watch some of the incredible story-arcs as a whole and not just single "memorable episodes" #Isidingo
I have a few recommendations I& #39;d love to drop in this thread (and I encourage fellow fans to do the same); but the one that sticks with me to this day is Len Cooper, Leon du Plessis & Tanya Raymond "love triangle" that played out in 2005 #Isidingo
@BrandonAuret was then and still is now one of the best actors SA ever produced and I& #39;ll fight anyone who says otherwise. His performance was the first time I& #39;d ever seen genuine male grief (anger, sadness, confusion)portrayed on screen. #Isidingo
