I've gotten the distinct impression that liberals have no clue at all what motivates people to vote, and all the discourse over the last six months or so in particular has made that suspicion increasingly concrete. https://twitter.com/ScottDaniel/status/1249917161503485953
Liberals also thought 2016 was going to be a landslide victory for Clinton because "Trump is just such a joke!" And once again, they're going to underestimate him, refuse to understand why people are voting for him, and get their asses resoundingly handed back to them in November
I really, really wish liberals would stop with these dumbass Aaron Sorkin Harry Potter fantasies, and shed the discomfort that makes them avoid confronting the sad and difficult realities of our political landscape. People are motivated solely by fear of loss, and promise of gain
Republican voters vote based largely on fear of loss, and group identity. Even those dissatisfied with Trump believe in the Republican platform far more than the Democrats'. A Biden ticket offers them nothing—no amelioration of loss, and no group identity.
Sanders appealed to some of them along a different vector. He appealed to their fear of loss, and clued them in to some ways they didn't realize they were losing. He got some of them to recognize a belonging to the group identity of Working Class. Biden does none of that.
There are "undecided" voters who don't really feel a loyalty to either party, but who tend to vote Republican because of that appeal to fear of loss. It's possible to get them to vote Democrat, but not with mealy-mouthed milquetoast centrist liberalism, which promises nothing.
Nearly everyone who voted for Trump in 2016 will vote for him again in 2020, because they're afraid. And voter turnout will be lower this year than in 2016, which was about 1% lower than in 2012.

In short, you have to be completely oblivious to think this map is "plausible".
I'm really sick of Liberal Magical Thinking™ being the guiding star for the mainstream political left.

I'm absolutely DONE with this fantasyland bullshit steering the narrative—especially while getting told WE'RE "unrealistic" for wanting even a marginally better world.
