Since Ramadan is around the corner I would like to share some benefits I came across a few years ago from the book (التبيان في اداب حملة القران), by the Imaam Al Jaleel, Al Hafith , AShafecee An- Nawaawi Rahimuallah
I’m going to do a thread about how the Salaf used to constantly recite and complete the Quran on a regular basis, inshallah this will encourage all of us to form a habit of reading the Quraa’n regularly and also complete it at least once during Ramadan.
Ibn Abee Dawood (Rahimuallah) narrated that some of the Salaf would complete the Quran once every two months, and others would complete it once every month, others would complete it once every 10 nights, others would complete it every 8 nights once
and most of them would complete it once every 7 nights, others once every 6 nights, others once every 5 nights, others once every four nights, and a lot of them once every three nights, some were once every two nights, and some every day and night they would complete it once
some would also complete it three times every day and finally there were some of them that would complete it 8 times in a day, 4 times during the morning/evening and 4 times during the night!!
From the ones who would complete it once every day was some of big Sahabas, and Salaf, Uthman Bin Afaan, Tameem Adaare, Saeed Bin Jubayr, Mujaahid, AShaafecee and others, May Allah have mercy on them all and elevate their status.
From the ones who would complete it every day three times was Saliim Bin Citir, He’s a Tabee Jaleel, Thiqa, Qadee of Egypt during the Khilaafah of Mucawiayaah (RadiyAllah Anhum Ajmaceen)
From the ones who would complete it four times a day were, Aboo Bakr Bin Abee Dawood narrated that he would would complete it four times every night, Aboo Cumar Al Kandee narrated in his book (قضاة مصر) that he would complete it four times every night
It was narrated from Aboo Abdurahmaan As Salaame, Al Hafidth Al Caalim, Az Zaahid, Shaykhul Mashaaykh that he heard Shaykh Abaa Cuthmaan Al- Maghrebi say: 1/2
Aboo Ali Ibnul Kaatib (and he was from Kibaaar Mashaaykh of Egypt) that he would complete the Quran four times during the morning/evening and four times during the night, and this is the most we heard of someone completing it in a day and night. (End of quote)
From those who would complete it between the times of Salahs, i.e (In-between Dhur and Asr or Maghreb and Isha), Asayid Al Jaleel Ahmed Adawraqi in his chain of narration, from Mansoor Bin Zaathaan that he would complete the Quran once between Dhur and Asr...
and once between Maghreb and Isha, he would complete it twice in Ramadan in between Maghreb and Isha and they would delay the Isha prayer during this month.
And from those that would complete the Quran once in a Rakaa’h were not a lot, Uthman Bin Afaan, Tameen ADaaree and Saeed Bin Jubayr (رضي الله عنهم اجمعين)
From those who would complete the Quraa’n once every week were many, Uthman Bin Afaan, Abdullah Bin Masooud, Zayd Bin Thaabit, Ubay Bin Kacb (رضي الله عنهم اجمعين), and also a lot from the Tabeen such as CabdiRahmaan Bin Zayd, Calqamah, Ibraahim Ah Nakhacee (رحمهم الله)
(END OF THREAD) All I’m gonna say is that the Salaf were Filmiyaaaaaa 🔥😤
