The moment you tell yourself you NEED to do something, you are rejecting your free will. This is a lie. Then, some part of you will attempt to resist this limiting beLIEf by doing the “opposite” of what you believe you need to do as a way of retaining free will.
This even applies to things you genuinely enjoy or planned on doing anyway. When you become emotionally attached to these things, you form limiting beliefs that you NEED these things to feel a certain way. Per usual, some part of you will resist as a way to retain free will
As you accumulate beliefs about what you NEED to do, you will feel so trapped & powerless that the most liberating response is to do NOTHING. You may experience a complete lack of drive to do anything at all. We often judge ourselves as lazy when this happens. This is also a lie
We are not lazy at all. All of our willpower & drive is going toward resisting our own limiting beliefs. We just have THAT MANY limiting beliefs. Ironically, the desire to do nothing is very similar to the desire to meditate. You naturally know that meditation can resolve this
Meditate by being mindful of the breath. Become consciously present. You’ll notice thought-patterns come to the surface. Instead of judging these thoughts, breathe into them (be present with your breath AND these thoughts). This prevents distortion & attachment to the thoughts
Remember that there is NOTHING that you NEED to do. EVERYTHING you do is from free will. You’ll be able to release these thought patterns as you remain mindfully present and realize that they are all rooted in the belief that you NEED to do something.
As you release these limiting beliefs & the related thought-patterns, emotions may start to surface. These are the emotions you believed you NEEDED to suppress. As before, breathe into these emotions to bring them to the present. As you do this, they will become less distorted
