Syed this Syed that. But why aren’t we focussing on our nafs? How do we prove authenticity for our soul? A family tree won’t cut it. Are we fake Shias? The zulfiqar around our neck is just an exterior accessory. Are we close to Allah? Hereditary titles cant determine that.
Though I’m certainly against Syed prestige attitudes, I hate the boastful attitudes I’m seeing from the other side too. You can prove a point without generalising and putting a whole demographic down with it.
Also, literature and narrations from the Ahlulbayt DO prove a distinction between Syeds and Non-Syeds. This is why there are different rulings in Islamic jurisprudence on matters such as charity and khums. Don’t get this fact twisted in the process of calling out ignorant Syeds.
Denouncing the existence of a difference alltogether because of the marriage issue is actually doing a disservice in educating someone about Islam and what the Ahlulbayt have taught us.
In regards to lineages - Imam Ridha (as):

Someone remarked to the Imam, “By Allah! No one is superior to you as regards lineage and ancestry.” He replied, “All the virtues my ancestors possessed were due to their piety and obedience of Allah and not due to something else.”(1/2)
The man said, “By Allah! You are better than ordinary people.” The Imam replied with perfect humility, “O man, do not swear by Allah regarding this. One who has better piety than me is superior to me.” (2/2)

In regards to the best amongst us for Allah - The Holy Qur’an:

“Surely the most honorable of you with Allah is the one among you most careful (of his duty).”

49:13
Imam Ridha (as) with more tea:

“Whoever gives Fatwa (religious decree) without having the knowledge, the angels of heavens and the earth will curse him.”
