Thread on Tua just in case. Here's Nick Saban breaking down a Tua to Jeudy TD. Bama tried to set up a shot into the boundary with a fake WR screen but the defense doesn't bite. Tua comes all the way backside to Jeudy on the post. Deep accuracy + full-field progression. #Patriots
Tua is an accurate passer to all three levels. Great touch and anticipation throw here. Able to lay it out over the defenders and drop it in the bucket while leading Waddle into YAC.
Tua's footwork, awareness, and poise in the pocket are incredible. Look at the subtle movement/climb here. Spatial awareness. Reload, and throw a dart for a completion. Footwork is on another level.
How about manipulating defenders out of passing lanes with his eyes? Watch LB #6 here. Tua stares down the stick route to the TE in his drop, forcing #6 to stay put, then comes back to Jeudy on the crosser.
Here's another example of great eye manipulation. He takes the dropping linebacker right out of the passing lane with his eyes/body positioning and then comes back to the open window for a TD.
Great awareness of oncoming rushers, elusiveness in the pocket, and playmaking with accuracy/poise under pressure.
We all understand the medicals with Tua. Not the point of this thread. I can't fault a team for taking the chance in the first round with a generational talent. Maybe his body breaks down or maybe you get a star. Glad my job isn't on the line making that tough decision.
