Man, I love Deku as a Protagonist.

He is essentially a representation of how no one person can shoulder fixing something as large as society and that, rather, lifting your peers up alongside you is the way to go.

This is an inversion of All Mights unnatural, unilateral -
-reign as a peerless hero, who all by himself carried the weight of global peace, which is a pretty ridiculous notion.

And the story goes out of its way to show the consequences of societies reliance on just one man.

Dekus role is to contrast that and I love it.
Not to mention how likeable the dude is! Having his dreams crushed and his social circles torn apart, he remains a cheerful and respectful young man, yet humble and aware of all the help he gets.

No defiant cockyness, no real edge - just a really good person and I stan.
That last part is actually a big reason.

Maybe its because I grew up here, where humility and politeness is glorified (to a fault, mind you) but I always struggled enjoying the loudmouthed, cocky archetype so many shonen use, so Deku was right up my alley!
Also can I say I love Dekus chemistry with pretty much everyone, but one pairing I didnt expect to work so well is him and Endeavor

Enji basically spells it out that All Might was a miracle and that the new gen needs a new type of hero, someone who is more of a regular guy

DEKU
Another thing that I love about him

"He is only where he is because of the help he got, thats not a good foundation" is smn often said about him and he would probably agree!
He knows how miraculously blessed he is and his story is about living up to the expectations that brings
