So I exported all my emails from Gmail from a business account. It was 22GB and contained 425,000 emails, from 2007-2020. I gotta say I'm mightily impressed by how Apple's Mail app manages to present 425,000 emails in a single, scrollable folder when imported locally!!
Also, MBOX is a wonderfully simple standard that all email providers should support!
