I’d just like to remind y’all that ARABIC FOOD is incredibly pantry friendly, has a lot of meatless options, and is very easy to make. With meat becoming not very safe to buy, here are some recipes you should try! I’m no expert, these are just some recipes I really enjoy!
This is gonna be mostly Lebanese btw. It’s just what I know. If any of my fellow Arabs wanna add to this thread, please do!
Hummus, baba ghanoush, lebneh, and pita bread are all staples in Arabic cuisine that are all relatively easy to make and have low ingredient recipes. There are tons of recipes online, just pick ones that are the most accessible to you!
BAMIA!! Super delicious okra stew, substitute beef for butter beans (or any white bean you want.) 7 spice is a mix of black pepper, cumin, paprika, coriander, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cardamom. Use what u got, balance to your own taste. http://Feelgoodfoodie.net/recipe/Mediterranean-okra-beef-tomato-stew/
Okay, so this one isn’t as accessible if you don’t have a middle eastern grocery store near you, but check out Lebanese Kishik soup if you can. It’s incredible. Kishik powder, garlic, olive oil, water, salt, lemon (if you want), DONE.
Stuffed grape leaves, stuffed zucchini, and stuffed cabbage can all be made without meat (just seasoned rice and sometimes veg). It’s not a personal fav, but definitely try if that’s something you’re into.
Ok so last for now, and an absolute BANGER. ZUCCHINI FRITTERS aka EGGIT KOUSSA.
