So, I had a interesting conversation with my Mom today.

She reminded me of a conversation she had with me in end of December or early January about Wuhan.

At the time, my parents were visiting India, and Indian newspapers and TV media were getting strange reports from China.
At the time, many Indians (especially from the state of Kerala) were still studying abroad in Wuhan.

However, many were rushing home (those who could afford to) because of huge amount of deaths occurring there. The state authorities had sequestered all foreigners by this time.
Media were reporting "hundreds or thousands of body bags" on the street, according to these returning students.

My Mom asked me about this, and I remember waving it away, as if it was all rumors.

But now...one has to wonder.
The other question is, was our intelligence services aware of these stories?

If not...why weren't they?

Just thought it was interesting in hindsight. I had largely forgotten about this conversation.
