It's almost time for the House COVID-19 Committee working group on Continuity of State Operations meeting. Livestream link here: https://www.ncleg.gov/Video/HouseCOVID19 #ncga #ncpol
Will also accept Continuity of State Operations as a band name idea.
Rep. Lewis getting things started. #ncga
They're talking now about what time window this would be for: current emergency declaration, any emergency declaration, exact number of days, etc.
"Charitable Solicitation Division would like the 10-day statutory limit by which an application has to be reviewed to be extended to 20 days during the emergency as it takes longer for employees to review these applications
given teleworking and social distancing requirements."
That's an ask referred by the Secretary of State, and an example of how work slows down during all this.
Now on to #DMV driver's licenses, registration deadline extensions and waived fees/fines during the emergency. #ncga
Rep. Torbett said they're still figuring out what the time frame should be beyond whenever there's a "full stop" on the emergency declaration. #ncga #DMV
Rep. Elmer Floyd said they've got to have a sunset for any of these provisions.
Rep. Stevens with the jokes.
They're talking through notary stuff. Just information sharing of questions in that doc I shared earlier in this thread.
