Does anyone know if The Power Of Love by Frankie Goes to Hollywood deliberately references The Human Torch? It could almost be written from his point of view and it quotes his catch phrase “Flame On”.

There’s verse 6 (often cut) from Rapper’s Delight by Sugarhill Gang which is hilarious

Oh and just in case you’re not hip like me, all of those mentions of Mary Jane in songs from the 70s are not referencing the delightful Miss Watson, Tiger.
