For HS teachers and their students getting ready for next month's modified AP US History exam, we have #primarysources and educational resources to help prepare you for the shortened DBQ format. #APUSH

#TeachingTuesdays
Our document analysis worksheets are designed for both written and several non-text based sources. Same basic routine, regardless of document format (photo, map, poster, etc). They can help students find evidence to support their arguments. #APUSH
Specific tools in our online resource @DocsTeach can support #APUSH prep. Weighing the Evidence activities ask students to analyze documents and place them on a scale according to how they support a historical interpretation. http://www.docsteach.org/tools/weighing-the-evidence
"Weighing the Evidence" can help students focus on finding evidence with #primarysources to support specific arguments and evaluate the strength of that evidence on a spectrum. #APUSH
The Making Connections tool is helpful for DBQ Prep. It presents a string of #primarysources to convey historical progression or some related theme and prompts students to make connections among the events. http://www.docsteach.org/tools/making-connections #APUSH
Making Connections is easily adaptable to the AP DBQ format. Give students a DBQ prompt and place 5 primary sources from the National Archives (or from other institutions) in conversation with each other. #APUSH
With this year’s reduced historical time periods for the DBQ (Unit 3-Unit 7 or 1754-1945), there are over 7,000 documents in DocsTeach to help build that content knowledge or incorporate them into model DBQ activities. http://ow.ly/ZhRz50zdFzv  #APUSH
With a free @DocsTeach account, teachers can even make folders of highlight documents for each Unit. Or just share these links of select documents, like this one for #APUSH Unit 3: 1754–1800 https://www.docsteach.org/shared-documents/favorite/MTgwNjk= More Units via @DocsTeach.
Remember, our education specialists are always happy to help answer your #APUSH questions at @DocsTeach!
