Among Americans 65 and older who believe President Trump is doing a good job at handling the coronavirus outbreak, a startling 65% say the fact that he holds daily press conferences is a "big reason" for confidence in how he is handling things. Only 8% say that is not a reason.
Strangely enough, 50% of people that same age who think Trump is doing a bad job, cite the daily press conferences as a reason the lack confidence in how the president is handling things. (Maybe these are also the people actually tuning in regularly)
And wow! Among the 65+ cohort who think President Trump is doing a bad job, 95 PERCENT say a "big reason" is that they do not trust his judgement.
20 percent of Republicans report that they do not trust President Trump for medical info about the coronavirus impact. Across demographics of age, race and gender, a majority distrusts Trump on that front.
By a 57/43 margin, Republicans report believing that President Trump& #39;s administration *was prepared* to deal with the coronavirus outbreak. It& #39;s not even close among all age/gender/race demographics.
