My students seem to be treating their extended writing on significance as a causation essay, whilst treating significance criteria as categories for evidence/ causal factors for the Magna Carta’s significance?
How do we move students past this?

A very controversial point but also something I’m struggling with:
Should we be teaching significance as it’s own second order concept?
Or should we instead teach significance through the medium of other second order concepts?
