My take is that Fauci used to be a doctor. Now? He's suffered the fate of many in his field, he gave up the lab for an administrator position -- which isn't a bad thing pe se, you want doctors in charge of medicine. But this position puts him at the mercy of POLITICIANS.

If he wants to stay in that position -- for whatever reason, good or bad -- then he must play the political game too. He has to stand there, while Trump says patently false things, and then find a way to make it sound like he agrees while saying something entirely different.

Captain Crozier chose to go out by doing the right thing. Is that what Fauci should do? Beats me. Only he can decide that.
